The Reality on the Streets of Vancouver
This site was made to inform people the reality of the homeless problem in Vancouver. Unfortunately, many people don’t understand why people are homeless. They presume people chose to be homeless and are responsible for their own fate, be it drugs or laziness. The truth is while many homeless people do in fact face addiction problems, many are homeless due to society. Their jobs do not provide them enough money to keep up with the high prices of essential needs such as housing, warmth and food. Many people are being laid off their jobs due to the downward spiral of our economy, and minimum wage jobs are not meant to sustain a family, let alone a person.
In this site, you will find many facts on these unlucky people; some videos with footage of what’s hidden behind the glamorous reputation of Vancouver; some posters you can print out for awareness; and some things that even you can do to help improve this issue.
